Business Environment

This unit will develop learners’ understanding of the environment
and circumstances in which different business organisations operate. Learners will learn about how business environments work in synergy with stakeholders such as government, competitors, consumers and suppliers and how they are affected by global factors. Learners will also explore how pricing, behaviours and business decisions are influenced by different market structures.

Resource Management

The aim of this unit is to provide an overview of the human and
physical resources needed in a range of organisations, including those in the primary, service and manufacturing sectors, and provide an understanding of the impact of efficiency on the organisations. Learners will use this knowledge to review the effective use of resources within an organisation.

Communication Skills

Understand how communication takes place within organisations.

People in Organisations

This unit aims to develop knowledge of those aspects of
organisations that concern and support people. This includes communication practices, teamwork, remote working and other organisational structures. Using this knowledge learners will be able to review the impact of workplace practices on people.

Applying Promotional Techniques

To develop understanding of promotion in business and to practise
evaluation of existing campaigns and development of new ones.

Corporate Social Responsibility

To develop an understanding of CSR issues and impacts of CSR
Policy.

Administrative Services

To develop an understanding of the range of administrative
services that might be offered to managers or departments within organisations and to develop administrative skills.

Planning a Work-Based Team Project

To develop project management skills in the workplace

Finance for Managers

To introduce learners to practical accounting and financial
techniques that are useful to managers in business organisations.

Customer Relationship Management

To develop an understanding of the scope and importance of CRM
and to explore how effective CRM is achieved.

Study Skills

This unit will develop learners’ understanding of the research
process, good academic practices and the potential pitfalls. Learners will develop the understanding of the types and sources of information and the skills to use them and to communicate their findings following good academic practices. Learners will also develop their understanding of how to continue their personal development through the process of self-reflection.

 

Second Year - BBA- Level 5

Managing Communication

This unit aims to develop knowledge and understanding of how
communication takes place within and between organisations, the potential pitfalls and the benefits of good practices.

Business Organisations in a Global Context

This unit aims to develop learners’ understanding of the issues
organisations face operating within a global context.  This understanding will allow learners to review the issues currently impacting on businesses.

People Management

In this unit learners develop the knowledge and understanding of
what motivates individuals and teams and use this to review people management strategies used in organisations. Learners will gain
an understanding of leadership theories, motivational theories, the impact of structure and culture as well as other tools that can be used to empower people in the workplace.

Finance for Managers

To introduce learners to practical accounting and financial
techniques that are useful to managers in business organisations.

Research Project

To formulate a research specification on a chosen topic, implement
the research project, evaluate and present the research findings.

Manage Sustainability in an Organisation

To develop the knowledge, skills and techniques to be able to
identify sustainability issues within an organisation and to put in place suitable management systems for legal compliance and corporate responsibility purposes.

The aim of this unit is to enable the learner to understand the role of leadership and management in organisations; and the use of
leadership and management skills to improve organisational performance.

Research Project (all)

The aim of this unit is to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required to produce a research question and carry out independent research using appropriate research techniques. The learner will analyse and present their research findings, evaluate the research methodology and their personal learning.

Managing Quality and Service Delivery (all)

To enable learners to develop the knowledge and understanding required to manage and deliver excellent customer service.

Personal Leadership and Management Development (all)

This unit aims to help learners develop their own personal leadership and management skills to support the achievement of organisational objectives and personal progression.

Financial Decision Making for Managers (Finance)

The learners will develop knowledge, understanding and skills required to make financial decisions to meet business needs.

Accounting (Finance)

The unit will enable learners to develop knowledge, understanding and skills in financial and management accounting

Managing Finance in the Public Sector (Finance)

The learners will develop knowledge and understanding of finance and accountability in the public sector.

Economics for Business (Finance)

To provide learners with the knowledge and understanding of the economic environment and its impact on how businesses operate.

Factors Determining Marketing Strategies( Marketing)

This unit enables learners to understand the influences on marketing strategy and the characteristics and use of marketing intelligence. It also involves the underpinning principles of strategic marketing analysis, strategic choice and stakeholder engagement.

This unit enables learners to understand the principles, practice and components of integrated marketing communications and how they are used to optimize marketing messages, including the use of digital media.  Learners will be able to develop an integrated marketing communications plan.

To provide learners with knowledge and understanding of sales and the principles and practices of professional selling in the business environment.

Branding (Marketing)

To enable learners to develop knowledge and understanding of branding and its impact on the success of organisations.

Management Information SystemsTo enable learners to examine the use of information systems within organisations. The learners will develop knowledge and understanding of the contribution information systems make to the development and management of organisations.

Logistics and Supply Chain Management (Operations Mgmt)

This unit will allow learners to gain knowledge and understanding of why supply chains are important to business organisations. The unit will allow learners to gain an understanding of how to resolve strategic supply chain management issues and to consider the impact of technology on supply chains.

Managing Change (Managing People)

The aim of this unit is to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required to manage change within an organisation. Learners will develop an understanding of the need for managing change and the different models that can be used to support this process.

Risk Management (Operations Management)

The aim of this unit is to help learners develop knowledge and understanding of the importance of managing risks in business organisations and enable them to develop an effective risk management plan.

Project Management (General, Managing People, Operations Management)

The aim of this unit is to enable learners to understand the process of identifying appropriate and feasible projects. Learner will also understand how the projects can be planned and monitored in order to achieve business objectives.

Human Resource Management (General, Managing People)

The aim of this unit is to develop knowledge, understanding and skills in human resource management and consider contemporary issues that affect human resource management within organisations.
